Derelict 1.0 for Worms Armageddon

DerelictScaled ScreenshotDownload for Worms Armageddon

After the events of Global Warming and The Last Resort, wormkind had no choice but to begin exploring the cosmos for a new, less flooded, planet.

They had begun to seek out new life, and all that. They had their cornbread. And then in what can only be explained as a freak coincindence, the Starship ISS MNP found itself pelted by chunks of icy space-borne debris, severing the ship into two, fort-like, halfs.

You might think that now is the time to band together and bring this crew to safety. Unfortunately, the only worm who knew how to tend to the hydroponic corn was killed in the incident and so was the crew’s hope of having a continuous supply of cornbread. The less worm mouths to feed, the longer the supply of cornbread will last. And so war must declared. Math can be a cruel mistress.

This level is the next in the line of MnP fort-style maps. It was originally started in 2011, but a variety of delays meant that it would not see the light of day until 2015. Designed with the fort mentality in mind, players will be able to find defensive positions in the various parts of the now derelict ship. Should you be brave enough to face the hard coldness of space, you could try your roping or jumping skills to attempt to traverse the shattered connecting shaft. But one wrong step and it’s the vacuum of space for you! Incidentally, this map was NOT inspired by the film: Gravity. 😉

The Indie Gala 9 features Original Worms & Alien Breed 2 for Steam!

The Original Worms and Alien Breed 2 for Steam on Indie Gala 9!I love independent games bundles. Humble Bundle. Indie Royale. Groupees. Indie Gala. Love ’em. The idea is you pay what you want for a group of games, usually for Steam or Desura and ALWAYS DRM-free. It’s a great way to support the developers and charities at the same time!

As of this writing, the most recent Indie Gala (Indie Gala 9) includes the original Worms for Steam! Pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. It’s one sure-fire way to play the classic original without having to jump through all the DOS Box/Virtual OS hoops. Go get it here before it expires!

Worms Armageddon now available on Steam with Worms Revolution preorder!

Worms Armageddon Comes to Steam! In case you missed the announcement, new life has been breathed into the “fan-favorite” classic game, Worms Armageddon! At the time of this posting, you can pre-order Worms Revolution from Steam. With your preorder, you get the prestigious Worms Armageddon for free WHICH YOU CAN PLAY RIGHT NOW on Steam!

Worm Armageddon’s Steam debut (which to some is a dream come true), will no doubt invite a huge, new crowd of players into the classic Worms Armageddon franchise, as it now makes readily available a game that many have some difficulty purchasing in today’s market. With all these newbies arriving so suddenly, Wormetti made the appropriate comment on the official forums: “Fresh blood”

Fresh blood indeed.

Check out this link to pre-order Worms Revolution and get your free copy of Worm Armageddon.

Check out this link to see some of the details regarding compatibility with common worms mods and plugins as well as the CD version of the game and it’s beta updates. Apparently, the version available from Steam is slightly newer than what is currently available on the Team17 Worms Armageddon forums (3.6.31.0)

As always, you can get your official Meat & Potatoes Productions Worms Armageddon custom maps right here at mnpp.net on this page, or if you would prefer, you can also get them on the Worms Map Database.

Squatters Rope Shopper 1.0 for Worms Reloaded

Squatters RSScaled ScreenshotDownload for Worms Reloaded

This is the FIRST EVER Rope Shopper map that is kinda sorta maybe by MnP. 🙂

I say that because while this is most certainly an official MnP remix based on Squatters, the idea behind it and most of the encouragement to release it is almost entirely a result of our buddies over at wmdb.org. Special thanks goes out to Rodent, since he was primarily the one suggesting the changes that needed to be made to the original Squatters map. He was also responsible for playtesting it, along with Fire Lord and we think they did a great job at that too. Without their help, this release would most definitely never have seen the light of day. We got the scheme file from wropers.com; it is based on their standard 30-sec roper shopper scheme.

MnP’s Family Feud featured in Worms Reloaded review by Highlander Reviews

This is rather outdated news, but just to be thorough, we wanted to thank TheFinalHighlander for including Family Feud in his 15-minute video review of Worms Reloaded published back in September, 2010.

Check out the original video below:

Worms Armageddon gets a new beta update in October 2010!

UPDATE 1: Soon after the release of 3.6.30.0, a new version was released (3.6.31.0)! Go get it here.

Tycoon Breaks the MnP Competition Curse!

Tycoon Wins Worms Reloaded Competition!Recently, Tycoon was selected as one of three custom map winners in the Team17 Design a Multiplayer Map Competition in October 2010! It will now join the grouping of MnP maps currently included in Worms Reloaded in a special community DLC pack that will soon be released by Team17 on Steam.

That pretty much breaks the Garfield / Worms Map Competition curse for MnP, and boy does it feel good. Down with the orange cat… lest we forget.

We’d like to thank Team17 for this honor and certainly hope more players get an opportunity to play on our custom designed maps. For all of our supporters, additional thanks goes out. And for any newcomers who might find their way to mnpp.net, welcome and enjoy.
